World-class credentials, but his African name sparks doubt
World-class credentials, but his African name sparks doubt.
Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze dropped a truth bomb: "If my name was Lopez or Marko, it would be a different story."
The Burundian tactician is facing skepticism not because of his CV, but because he's African. Let's examine that CV: he coached Germany's 2008 Under-21 squad featuring future World Cup winners Mesut Özil, Toni Kroos, Mats Hummels, and Sami Khedira. He's worked at Schalke 04, Bayer Leverkusen, Nice, and Barcelona's youth teams. He holds CAF A and German Football Federation A licenses.
Yet social media doubted him immediately.
"We don't take it personal because it's not directed at us it's directed at everything we represent," Kaze said calmly. "We want to honour the confidence the club has placed in us."
His message? Judge him on results, not his passport. Chiefs fans and all of Africa are watching. Do not forget to like share and follow.
